Stormshield’s commitment to designing robust solutions is nothing new. Almost 20 years ago, the first Arkoon and Netasq products were awarded Common Criteria certification and qualification by France’s ANSSI cybersecurity agency. Can’t see the connection? At the forefront of European cybersecurity expertise for... a long time
Netasq, the expert in UTM solution
1998 | The Netasq company is created in Villeneuve-d’Ascq (France) and creates the first firewall with integrated IPS.
2004 | Netasq acquires Intranode, a company specialising in vulnerability management, to add traffic analysis vulnerability detection capabilities to its UTM firewall solutions.
Arkoon, the IT security solutions publisher
2000 | The year in which Arkoon is founded in Lyon (France). The first UTM solution is created in the process, with an antiviral solution built into its firewall boxes.
2006 | Arkoon acquires MSI and its file encryption solution, SecurityBox, which will later become Stormshield Data Security.
2009 | Arkoon acquires SkyRecon Systems and its innovative solution for the protection of workstations and servers, which will become Stormshield Endpoint Security.
DNA deeply rooted in industry
Alongside Airbus CyberSecurity
2012 | Airbus Defence & Space – now Airbus CyberSecurity – acquires Arkoon and Netasq, which then become Stormshield. It is an alliance that lays the foundation for trusted European cybersecurity.
2014 | As a result of this merger, the first products bearing the Stormshield brand name appear on the cybersecurity market. And Stormshield’s virtual appliances start to make their way into the Amazon Web Service and Microsoft Azure online retail spaces.

2015 | Schneider Electric and Stormshield enter into an ambitious partnership, with the aim of addressing industrial cyber security issues.
2016 | The SNi40 becomes the first industrial firewall to receive ANSSI’s CSPN certification. In the same year, Stormshield launches Breach Fighter, a cloud sandboxing solution.

A new look for Stormshield products
2020 | The SNi20 joins the industrial firewall family, focusing on deep packet inspection and protection of industrial communication protocols.
2021 | The Data Security product line is strengthened with the release of Stormshield Data Security for Google Workspace, to increase the level of protection for sensitive data in Google workspaces. The Network Security product line is completed by the launch of the SN1100, the Stormshield Log Supervisor (SLS) log management product and the SNxr1200 encryption firewall.
2022 | The Network Security product line begins its overhaul with the release of the first items in the new SN-M-Series range: SN720 and SN920. At the same time, the Stormshield Network VPN Client product is now presented as the sovereign end-to-end remote access solution, the fruit of a long-standing collaboration with TheGreenBow.
2023 | A new stage in the overhaul of the Network Security product line with the new SN-S-Series range and the SN220 and SN320 boxes, while the SN520 product completes the SN-M-Series range. At the same time, Stormshield is making official its XDR offering, an ideal combination of different product lines and CTI expertise.
2024 | After the SN-S-Series and SN-M-Series ranges, the renewal continues with the announcement of the launch of two new ranges of high-performance firewalls: SN-L-Series (SN2200 & SN3200) and SN-XL-Series (SN5200 & SN6200).
Products recognised by the highest authorities
2020 | Stormshield Network Security firewalls receive double recognition from the certification body of the National Cryptology Centre (Centro Criptológico Nacional, CCN) in Spain, as qualified and approved products.
2022 | Two years later, the Stormshield Endpoint Security Evolution EDR product was awarded the Spanish Producto Cualificado certification by the CCN.
2023 | The following year, the Stormshield Endpoint Security Evolution EDR was once again rewarded in France, with First Level Security Certification (CSPN), awarded under the authority of the ANSSI. At the same time, Stormshield Network Security firewalls have been awarded CC EAL4+ certification.
2024 | The result of several years' work, Stormshield Network Security firewalls are awarded Standard qualification by ANSSI. This makes Stormshield the only qualified encryption firewall in the cybersecurity sector.
