Intel Security and Arkoon Netasq, a subsidiary of Airbus Defence and Space and a key player in the cyber security market, have announced a partnership for the joint utilisation of McAfee® ePolicy Orchestrator® (ePO®), McAfee Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and Stormshield Data Security (SDS). This collaboration of the ANSSI certified encryption technology Stormshield, with Intel Security’s Security Connected framework, will help Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) customers to improve the protection of their data.
Cyberattacks on CNI have the potential to cause massive disruption to entire nations and the threat may be growing. In addition, data privacy and data protection is becoming more challenging for CNI organizations.
In response to this changing threat landscape, France has improved its security for CNI. The French MOD now has the power to enforce measures on CNI (essential operators) such as closing down networks in the event of a detected attack or breach.
This partnership between Intel Security and Arkoon Netasq seeks to address the recommendations outlined by the French regulations to offer CNI organizations better methods of protection for sensitive data. The solutions unify security management, simplify risk and enhance compliance management and visibility around data in motion inside and outside the organization.
“For many reasons - ranging from theft for personal gain to organizational espionage - operators of CNI, military, aerospace, and defence organizations are likely to see an increasing volume and sophistication of cyber threats in the coming years,” said Fabien Rech, regional director for France, Intel Security. “Tackling these threats requires concerted private and public efforts at national and international levels as well as a change in mind-set when it comes to the technology needed to better protect this kind of infrastructure. We believe this partnership is a step in the right direction.”
“This partnership, between two major security players, each of which has developed complementary, proven technologies, is a unique response to the challenges of protecting sensitive infrastructures,” said Pierre Calais, head of Arkoon Netasq. “We believe that security vendors should endeavour to get their security solutions to work together in order to meet the ongoing challenge that combating cyber threats has become.” Stormshield Data Security (formerly SecurityBox) now offers a new management interface that lets customers integrate the solution seamlessly into their McAfee DLP environment. Detection policies and actions can be defined in the McAfee EPO to encrypt sensitive data by using Stormshield Data Security. There is no user interaction required and the files are encrypted automatically based on the criteria defined in the EPO Console. Third party applications can now benefit from the features of ANSSI-certified and qualified trusted encryption. The combined use of Stormshield Data Security and McAfee solutions is designed to provide organizations of all sizes with an exceptional and more reliable way to better protect and control information.”
