Stormshield’s Polish teams recently signed a partnership with Wyzsza Szkola Bankowa University (WSB) to supply Stormshield equipment and to train the teaching staff in its use. An important first step internationally for the Stormshield Academy training solution. Its objective: to promote a widespread knowledge of cybersecurity as part of the training syllabuses for tomorrow’s engineers.
With this partnership, our goal is to help the teachers at WSB University to improve their knowledge of network security. Thanks to free access to our equipment and the availability of dedicated virtual machines, the students can include useful “hands-on” operational skills as part of their syllabus.
You can watch a video of my speech to WSB University (from 1:21:00) along with Pawel Smigielski, Country Manager Poland, among others.
WSB University attaches great importance to the practical aspects in their studies. For Professor Marcin Pieleszek, the Dean’s representative for the use of IT within the teaching programmes, Stormshield was an obvious choice: “We actively cooperate with international IT companies including among others Microsoft, SAP or IBM. And the university was looking for a network security supplier with whom it could organise educational cooperation. A necessary condition was the opportunity to provide practical laboratory-type work for the students. A condition which is perfectly met with the Stormshield Academy programme”.

For the occasion, Stormshield Institute changed its name to become “Stormshield Academy”. A new name to reflect its international ambitions.
Network security is a key requirement for the 21st century. But to be effective, it must be accompanied by improved know-how, by the ability to choose the right infrastructure and, above all, by suitable training for specialists. The Stormshield Academy programme is our response to the requirement to provide training for future network security administrators. Hands-on experience is vital, hence the focus on practical configuration skills and the management of integrated solutions to protect networks.
